Sav Pro FAQs

Sav Pro FAQs

1. What is Sav Pro?
  1. Sav Pro is our premium subscription (AED 99/month, incl. VAT) that helps you get more out of every dirham you spend. As a Pro user, you get:
  2. Up to AED 500 monthly cashback at 5% on eligible Sav Card spends (vs. AED 50 on Standard).
  3. Lower FX fees — 2.30% on international transactions (vs. 2.80% on Standard).
  4. Free physical card (Standard pays AED 31.50).
  5. 5 free Mashreq ATM withdrawals + 2 free withdrawals at other UAE ATMs each month.
  6. PayDay Rewards of up to AED 1,500/month, on top of your cashback cap.
  7. MyMoney analytics across up to 10 bank accounts and credit cards (Standard is limited to 2 bank accounts).
  8. Buy 1 Get 1 free at 200+ restaurants via VISA Xperience, plus salon and gift card offers.
2. How is Sav Pro different from the Standard (free) version?
See the full comparison at https://sav.money/pro. The headline differences: AED 500 vs AED 50 monthly cashback cap, lower minimum spend to qualify on Standard (AED 500) vs Pro (AED 1,000), lower FX fees on Pro, more free ATM withdrawals, PayDay Rewards, and a free physical card.

3. I currently pay AED 149/month for Pro. When does my subscription fee change to AED 99?
At your next billing cycle on or after 1 June 2026. For example, if your billing date is 15 June 2026, your new charge will be AED 99. Billings that occurred before June 2026 will not be refunded for the difference.

4. I'm on an annual Pro plan at AED 199. With the new AED 99/month rate, what happens to my plan?
Your annual subscription remains at the price you originally paid until its renewal date. The new AED 99/month pricing applies only to new monthly subscriptions from 1 June 2026 onwards. When your annual plan renews, the new pricing structure will apply. You can switch to the new monthly plan any time before renewal via your subscription settings.

5. How do I upgrade to Sav Pro?
Open the Sav app → tap Profile → select the Sav Pro plan → complete payment. From 1 June 2026, the fee is AED 99/month (incl. VAT). Until 31 May 2026, the fee remains AED 149/month. Pro benefits activate immediately once payment is confirmed.

6. Is Sav Pro available in my country?
Sav Pro is currently available to UAE residents only. We're working on expanding to other regions.

7. Can I use Sav Pro on multiple devices?
For your security, Sav Pro is linked to a single mobile device. If you switch phones, you can re-link the app to your new device through standard sign-in.

8. Is my financial information secure with Sav Pro?
Yes. Sav is regulated by the DFSA, the Sav Card is issued by NymCard (regulated by the Central Bank of the UAE), and we use industry-standard encryption to protect your data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

9. Can I cancel my Sav Pro subscription?
Yes, anytime via your subscription settings. Pro benefits remain active until the end of your current billing cycle, after which you'll move to the Standard plan automatically.

10. Are there any hidden fees with Sav Pro?
No. The AED 99/month subscription is fully inclusive of VAT. The full schedule of card-related fees (FX, ATM, replacement card, etc.) is available here.

11. Are there limitations on the "Buy 1 Get 1 Free" offer at restaurants?
Yes. The offer is delivered in partnership with VISA Xperience. You'll need to download the VISA Xperience app and register your Sav Card to redeem. Participating outlets and offer terms are set by VISA and individual restaurants, and may change from time to time.

12. Can I share my Sav Pro account with others?
No. Sav Pro accounts are for individual use. Sharing credentials is not permitted for security and compliance reasons.

13. What happens if I forget my password?
Reset it through the Sav app using the "Forgot Password" flow. You'll verify your identity via OTP before setting a new password.

14. Is there a trial period for Sav Pro?
No. Sav Pro does not offer a free trial. You're billed AED 99/month (AED 149 before 1 June 2026) from the moment you subscribe.

15. How do I contact Sav Pro customer support?
  1. WhatsApp: +971 55 435 6597
  2. Email:support@sav.money
  3. Hours: 9am–7pm GST, Mon–Sat
  4. In-app: Chat from the Sav app

16. Can I use Sav Pro for business expenses?
Sav Pro is designed for personal use only. Bulk or business-pattern transactions may be flagged and excluded from cashback. A dedicated business product is on our roadmap.

17. How do billing cycles work for Sav Pro?
Sav Pro bills monthly on the date you subscribed. When your Pro fee is charged, the Pro cashback caps apply to spends made in that same calendar month. Example: subscribe on 28 October → subscription runs to 28 November → October spends earn Pro-tier cashback. All other Pro benefits remain active for the entire billing cycle.

Cashback Programme FAQs (June 2026 onwards)
18. I spent AED 15,000 in May 2026. Do I still get the full AED 750 cashback?
Yes. If your Pro subscription was active at any point during May 2026, your May spends are covered by the old Pro terms (AED 750 cap, AED 1,000 minimum spend). 5% of AED 15,000 = AED 750 — credited to your Sav Card on 10 July 2026.

19. What is the per-category cap, and does it apply to Pro users?
Yes. From 1 June 2026, both Standard and Pro users have an AED 200 per-category cashback cap. The maximum cashback you can earn from any single category (groceries, dining, travel, etc.) in a month is AED 200, regardless of how much you spend there. Pro users can still reach the AED 500 monthly cap — but it has to come from multiple categories.

20. I'm a Standard user. Does the minimum spend really drop from AED 2,000 to AED 500?
Yes. From 1 June 2026, Standard users only need to spend AED 500 in a calendar month to qualify for cashback (down from AED 2,000) — making it much easier to earn rewards.

21. Can I earn cashback on my DEWA / utility bill payments?
Yes. From 1 June 2026, utility payments (DEWA, SEWA, ADDC, FEWA, and similar) paid via your Sav Card earn 5% cashback, subject to the AED 200 per-category cap and your plan's monthly cap. Utility bills paid in May 2026 or earlier are not eligible under the old terms.

22. I paid my rent with my Sav Card. Does that earn cashback?
No. Rental payments — direct to a landlord or via a property management platform — are excluded from cashback. They fall under residential/commercial rental MCCs, which are not eligible.

23. I used my Sav Card abroad. Do I earn cashback?
Yes. From 1 June 2026, international spends are eligible at the same 5% rate, subject to the same caps. Cashback is calculated on the AED-equivalent amount as settled by Visa/NymCard. The FX fee (2.30% Pro / 2.80% Standard) still applies separately — the cashback helps offset it.
Example (Pro): AED 2,000 spent abroad → AED 46 FX fee, AED 100 cashback → AED 54 net positive.

24. I topped up my Careem Pay wallet and then paid for rides. Does that earn cashback?
No on the top-up — wallet loads are explicitly excluded. However, if your Sav Card is charged directly by Careem at the point of the ride (i.e. not via your Careem wallet), that ride may qualify under the transport/taxi category.

25. As a Pro user, I spent AED 3,000 on dining and AED 2,000 on shopping. What's my cashback?
Dining: 5% × AED 3,000 = AED 150 (below the AED 200 per-category cap)
Shopping: 5% × AED 2,000 = AED 100 (below the AED 200 per-category cap)
Total: AED 250 (below the AED 500 monthly Pro cap) → you receive AED 250.

26. What if my transaction is flagged as a bulk or business purchase?
Sav may classify certain transactions as bulk or business based on merchant, transaction size, or pattern. These are excluded from cashback. If you think a transaction was wrongly classified, contact Sav Support with proof of purchase — we'll review it. Sav's final decision applies, but every concern is reviewed.

27. When might cashback not be paid, even if I meet the minimum spend?
Cashback may be withheld or adjusted if:
  1. Your Sav account is inactive, suspended, or closed when disbursement is due.
  2. Fraudulent or suspicious activity is detected.
  3. Qualifying transactions were refunded or reversed.
  4. Transactions are determined to be non-qualifying (excluded categories, unsettled, etc.).
  5. You didn't meet the minimum qualifying spend for the month.
  6. You can't produce a purchase invoice in your name when requested.

28. Do Scratch Card rewards count toward my cashback cap?
Yes. Scratch Cards and Money Missions both count toward your monthly cashback cap. Example (Standard): AED 25 from a Scratch Card + AED 10 from Money Missions = AED 35 → leaving AED 15 of cashback eligibility from card spends (to reach the AED 50 cap).
PayDay Rewards and Referral Bonuses do not count toward the cap — they're paid on top.

29. I just subscribed to Pro on 31 May 2026. Do I get the old Pro cashback terms for May?
Yes. As long as your Pro subscription is active at any point during May 2026, your May spends fall under the old Pro terms (AED 750 cap, AED 1,000 minimum). Note: Sav may review subscriptions that appear taken out solely to exploit the transition.

30. Is cashback taxable?
Cashback is a promotional reward, not income — Sav does not deduct any taxes from it. Individual tax obligations vary, though, so consult a qualified tax advisor if you're unsure. Sav does not provide tax advice.

31. What if my cashback hasn't arrived by the 10th of the expected month?
Allow until the 15th for processing. If it still hasn't appeared, contact Sav Support (support@sav.money, in-app chat, or WhatsApp) with your transaction history from the qualifying month ready, so we can review quickly.
